251
ﻓَﻬَﺰَﻣُﻮْﻫُﻢْ ﺑِﺎِﺫْﻥِ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪِ ۗﻭَﻗَﺘَﻞَ ﺩَﺍﻭٗﺩُ ﺟَﺎﻟُﻮْﺕَ
ﻭَﺍٰﺗٰﻯﻪُ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪُ ﺍﻟْﻤُﻠْﻚَ ﻭَﺍﻟْﺤِﻜْﻤَﺔَ ﻭَﻋَﻠَّﻤَﻪٗ ﻣِﻤَّﺎ
ﻳَﺸَﺎۤﺀُ ۗ ﻭَﻟَﻮْﻟَﺎ ﺩَﻓْﻊُ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪِ ﺍﻟﻨَّﺎﺱَ ﺑَﻌْﻀَﻬُﻢْ
ﺑِﺒَﻌْﺾٍ ﻟَّﻔَﺴَﺪَﺕِ ﺍﻟْﺎَﺭْﺽُ ﻭَﻟٰﻜِﻦَّ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪَ ﺫُﻭْ
ﻓَﻀْﻞٍ ﻋَﻠَﻰ ﺍﻟْﻌٰﻠَﻤِﻴْﻦَ
fa hazamụhum bi`iżnillāh, wa qatala dāwụdu
jālụta wa ātāhullāhul-mulka wal-ḥikmata wa
'allamahụ mimmā yasyā`, walau lā
daf'ullāhin-nāsa ba'ḍahum biba'ḍil lafasadatil-
arḍu wa lākinnallāha żụ faḍlin 'alal-'ālamīn
So they defeated him by God's permission, and
David killed Goliath. Then Allah gave him (Dawud)
the kingdom, and wisdom, and taught him what He
willed. And if Allah had not protected some people
with others, the earth would have been ruined. But
Allah has grace (which He bestows) on all the
worlds.
252
ﺗِﻠْﻚَ ﺍٰﻳٰﺖُ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪِ ﻧَﺘْﻠُﻮْﻫَﺎ ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻚَ ﺑِﺎﻟْﺤَﻖِّ ۗ ﻭَﺍِﻧَّﻚَ
ﻟَﻤِﻦَ ﺍﻟْﻤُﺮْﺳَﻠِﻴْﻦَ ۔
tilka āyātullāhi natlụhā 'alaika bil-ḥaqq, wa
innaka laminal-mursalīn
These are the verses of Allah, We recite to you the
truth, and you are a messenger.
253
ﺗِﻠْﻚَ ﺍﻟﺮُّﺳُﻞُ ﻓَﻀَّﻠْﻨَﺎ ﺑَﻌْﻀَﻬُﻢْ ﻋَﻠٰﻰ ﺑَﻌْﺾٍۘ
ﻣِﻨْﻬُﻢْ ﻣَّﻦْ ﻛَﻠَّﻢَ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪُ ﻭَﺭَﻓَﻊَ ﺑَﻌْﻀَﻬُﻢْ ﺩَﺭَﺟٰﺖٍۗ
ﻭَﺍٰﺗَﻴْﻨَﺎ ﻋِﻴْﺴَﻰ ﺍﺑْﻦَ ﻣَﺮْﻳَﻢَ ﺍﻟْﺒَﻴِّﻨٰﺖِ ﻭَﺍَﻳَّﺪْﻧٰﻪُ
ﺑِﺮُﻭْﺡِ ﺍﻟْﻘُﺪُﺱِۗ ﻭَﻟَﻮْ ﺷَﺎۤﺀَ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪُ ﻣَﺎ ﺍﻗْﺘَﺘَﻞَ
ﺍﻟَّﺬِﻳْﻦَ ﻣِﻦْۢ ﺑَﻌْﺪِﻫِﻢْ ﻣِّﻦْۢ ﺑَﻌْﺪِ ﻣَﺎ ﺟَﺎۤﺀَﺗْﻬُﻢُ
ﺍﻟْﺒَﻴِّﻨٰﺖُ ﻭَﻟٰﻜِﻦِ ﺍﺧْﺘَﻠَﻔُﻮْﺍ ﻓَﻤِﻨْﻬُﻢْ ﻣَّﻦْ ﺍٰﻣَﻦَ
ﻭَﻣِﻨْﻬُﻢْ ﻣَّﻦْ ﻛَﻔَﺮَ ۗﻭَﻟَﻮْ ﺷَﺎۤﺀَ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪُ ﻣَﺎ ﺍﻗْﺘَﺘَﻠُﻮْﺍۗ
ﻭَﻟٰﻜِﻦَّ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪَ ﻳَﻔْﻌَﻞُ ﻣَﺎ ﻳُﺮِﻳْﺪُ
tilkar-rusulu faḍḍalnā ba'ḍahum 'alā ba'ḍ,
min-hum mang kallamallāhu wa rafa'a
ba'ḍahum darajāt, wa ātainā 'īsabna
maryamal-bayyināti wa ayyadnāhu birụḥil-
qudus, walau syā`allāhu maqtatalallażīna
mim ba'dihim mim ba'di mā jā`at-humul-
bayyinātu wa lākinikhtalafụ fa min-hum man
āmana wa min-hum mang kafar, walau
syā`allāhu maqtatalụ, wa lākinnallāha yaf'alu
mā yurīd
These messengers We preferred some of them to
others. Of them are some to whom Allah speaks,
and some to whom He has exalted by degrees.
And We gave Jesus son of Mary some signs, and
We strengthened him with the Holy Spirit. Had
Allah willed, those after them would not have killed
each other, after the proofs had reached them. But
they differed, so some of them believed and some
disbelieved. If Allah willed, they would not have
killed. But God does according to His will.
254
ﻳٰٓﺎَﻳُّﻬَﺎ ﺍﻟَّﺬِﻳْﻦَ ﺍٰﻣَﻨُﻮْٓﺍ ﺍَﻧْﻔِﻘُﻮْﺍ ﻣِﻤَّﺎ ﺭَﺯَﻗْﻨٰﻜُﻢْ ﻣِّﻦْ
ﻗَﺒْﻞِ ﺍَﻥْ ﻳَّﺄْﺗِﻲَ ﻳَﻮْﻡٌ ﻟَّﺎ ﺑَﻴْﻊٌ ﻓِﻴْﻪِ ﻭَﻟَﺎ ﺧُﻠَّﺔٌ ﻭَّﻟَﺎ
ﺷَﻔَﺎﻋَﺔٌ ۗﻭَﺍﻟْﻜٰﻔِﺮُﻭْﻥَ ﻫُﻢُ ﺍﻟﻈّٰﻠِﻤُﻮْﻥَ
yā ayyuhallażīna āmanū anfiqụ mimmā
razaqnākum ming qabli ay ya`tiya yaumul lā
bai'un fīhi wa lā khullatuw wa lā syafā'ah,
wal-kāfirụna humuẓ-ẓālimụn
O you who believe! Spend some of the sustenance
that We have given you before the day comes
when there will be no more buying and selling, no
more friendship and no more intercession. The
disbelievers are the wrongdoers.
255
ﺍَﻟﻠّٰﻪُ ﻟَﺎٓ ﺍِﻟٰﻪَ ﺍِﻟَّﺎ ﻫُﻮَۚ ﺍَﻟْﺤَﻲُّ ﺍﻟْﻘَﻴُّﻮْﻡُ ەۚ ﻟَﺎ ﺗَﺄْﺧُﺬُﻩٗ
ﺳِﻨَﺔٌ ﻭَّﻟَﺎ ﻧَﻮْﻡٌۗ ﻟَﻪٗ ﻣَﺎ ﻓِﻰ ﺍﻟﺴَّﻤٰﻮٰﺕِ ﻭَﻣَﺎ ﻓِﻰ
ﺍﻟْﺎَﺭْﺽِۗ ﻣَﻦْ ﺫَﺍ ﺍﻟَّﺬِﻱْ ﻳَﺸْﻔَﻊُ ﻋِﻨْﺪَﻩٗٓ ﺍِﻟَّﺎ ﺑِﺎِﺫْﻧِﻪٖۗ
ﻳَﻌْﻠَﻢُ ﻣَﺎ ﺑَﻴْﻦَ ﺍَﻳْﺪِﻳْﻬِﻢْ ﻭَﻣَﺎ ﺧَﻠْﻔَﻬُﻢْۚ ﻭَﻟَﺎ
ﻳُﺤِﻴْﻄُﻮْﻥَ ﺑِﺸَﻲْﺀٍ ﻣِّﻦْ ﻋِﻠْﻤِﻪٖٓ ﺍِﻟَّﺎ ﺑِﻤَﺎ ﺷَﺎۤﺀَۚ
ﻭَﺳِﻊَ ﻛُﺮْﺳِﻴُّﻪُ ﺍﻟﺴَّﻤٰﻮٰﺕِ ﻭَﺍﻟْﺎَﺭْﺽَۚ ﻭَﻟَﺎ ﻳَـُٔﻮْﺩُﻩٗ
ﺣِﻔْﻈُﻬُﻤَﺎۚ ﻭَﻫُﻮَ ﺍﻟْﻌَﻠِﻲُّ ﺍﻟْﻌَﻈِﻴْﻢُ
allāhu lā ilāha illā huw, al-ḥayyul-qayyụm, lā
ta`khużuhụ sinatuw wa lā na`ụm, lahụ mā
fis-samāwāti wa mā fil-arḍ, man żallażī
yasyfa'u 'indahū illā bi`iżnih, ya'lamu mā
baina aidīhim wa mā khalfahum, wa lā
yuḥīṭụna bisyai`im min 'ilmihī illā bimā syā`,
wasi'a kursiyyuhus-samāwāti wal-arḍ, wa lā
ya`ụduhụ ḥifẓuhumā, wa huwal-'aliyyul-'aẓīm
God, there is no god but Him. The Living, the One
who takes care of (His creatures), is neither sleepy
nor sleepy. To Him belongs whatever is in the
heavens and whatever is on the earth. No one can
intercede on His side without His permission. He
knows what is before them and what is behind
them, and they know nothing of His knowledge
except what He wills. His throne covers heaven
and earth. And He does not find it difficult to take
care of them, and He is the Most High, the Great.
256
ﻟَﺎٓ ﺍِﻛْﺮَﺍﻩَ ﻓِﻰ ﺍﻟﺪِّﻳْﻦِۗ ﻗَﺪْ ﺗَّﺒَﻴَّﻦَ ﺍﻟﺮُّﺷْﺪُ ﻣِﻦَ
ﺍﻟْﻐَﻲِّ ۚ ﻓَﻤَﻦْ ﻳَّﻜْﻔُﺮْ ﺑِﺎﻟﻄَّﺎﻏُﻮْﺕِ ﻭَﻳُﺆْﻣِﻦْۢ ﺑِﺎﻟﻠّٰﻪِ
ﻓَﻘَﺪِ ﺍﺳْﺘَﻤْﺴَﻚَ ﺑِﺎﻟْﻌُﺮْﻭَﺓِ ﺍﻟْﻮُﺛْﻘٰﻰ ﻟَﺎ ﺍﻧْﻔِﺼَﺎﻡَ
ﻟَﻬَﺎ ۗﻭَﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪُ ﺳَﻤِﻴْﻊٌ ﻋَﻠِﻴْﻢٌ
lā ikrāha fid-dīn, qat tabayyanar-rusydu
minal-gayy, fa may yakfur biṭ-ṭāgụti wa
yu`mim billāhi fa qadistamsaka bil-'urwatil-
wuṡqā lanfiṣāma lahā, wallāhu samī'un 'alīm
There is no compulsion in the religion (Islam),
indeed it is clear (difference) between the right
path and the wrong path. Whoever disbelieves in
Tagut and believes in Allah, then indeed, he has
held (firmly) to a very strong rope that will not
break. God is All -Hearing, All -Knowing.
257
ﺍَﻟﻠّٰﻪُ ﻭَﻟِﻲُّ ﺍﻟَّﺬِﻳْﻦَ ﺍٰﻣَﻨُﻮْﺍ ﻳُﺨْﺮِﺟُﻬُﻢْ ﻣِّﻦَ
ﺍﻟﻈُّﻠُﻤٰﺖِ ﺍِﻟَﻰ ﺍﻟﻨُّﻮْﺭِۗ ﻭَﺍﻟَّﺬِﻳْﻦَ ﻛَﻔَﺮُﻭْٓﺍ
ﺍَﻭْﻟِﻴَﺎۤﺅُﻫُﻢُ ﺍﻟﻄَّﺎﻏُﻮْﺕُ ﻳُﺨْﺮِﺟُﻮْﻧَﻬُﻢْ ﻣِّﻦَ ﺍﻟﻨُّﻮْﺭِ
ﺍِﻟَﻰ ﺍﻟﻈُّﻠُﻤٰﺖِۗ ﺍُﻭﻟٰۤﻯِٕﻚَ ﺍَﺻْﺤٰﺐُ ﺍﻟﻨَّﺎﺭِۚ ﻫُﻢْ
ﻓِﻴْﻬَﺎ ﺧٰﻠِﺪُﻭْﻥَ
allāhu waliyyullażīna āmanụ yukhrijuhum
minaẓ-ẓulumāti ilan-nụr, wallażīna kafarū
auliyā`uhumuṭ-ṭāgụtu yukhrijụnahum minan-
nụri ilaẓ-ẓulumāt, ulā`ika aṣ-ḥābun-nār, hum
fīhā khālidụn
God is the protector of the believers. He brings
them out of darkness into light (faith). And those
who disbelieve, their protectors are the devils, who
bring them out of light into darkness. They are the
inmates of hell. They remain in it.
258
ﺍَﻟَﻢْ ﺗَﺮَ ﺍِﻟَﻰ ﺍﻟَّﺬِﻱْ ﺣَﺎۤﺝَّ ﺍِﺑْﺮٰﻫٖﻢَ ﻓِﻲْ ﺭَﺑِّﻪٖٓ ﺍَﻥْ
ﺍٰﺗٰﻯﻪُ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪُ ﺍﻟْﻤُﻠْﻚَ ۘ ﺍِﺫْ ﻗَﺎﻝَ ﺍِﺑْﺮٰﻫٖﻢُ ﺭَﺑِّﻲَ ﺍﻟَّﺬِﻱْ
ﻳُﺤْﻲٖ ﻭَﻳُﻤِﻴْﺖُۙ ﻗَﺎﻝَ ﺍَﻧَﺎ۠ ﺍُﺣْﻲٖ ﻭَﺍُﻣِﻴْﺖُ ۗ ﻗَﺎﻝَ
ﺍِﺑْﺮٰﻫٖﻢُ ﻓَﺎِﻥَّ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪَ ﻳَﺄْﺗِﻲْ ﺑِﺎﻟﺸَّﻤْﺲِ ﻣِﻦَ
ﺍﻟْﻤَﺸْﺮِﻕِ ﻓَﺄْﺕِ ﺑِﻬَﺎ ﻣِﻦَ ﺍﻟْﻤَﻐْﺮِﺏِ ﻓَﺒُﻬِﺖَ ﺍﻟَّﺬِﻱْ
ﻛَﻔَﺮَ ۗﻭَﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪُ ﻟَﺎ ﻳَﻬْﺪِﻯ ﺍﻟْﻘَﻮْﻡَ ﺍﻟﻈّٰﻠِﻤِﻴْﻦَۚ
a lam tara ilallażī ḥājja ibrāhīma fī rabbihī an
ātāhullāhul-mulk, iż qāla ibrāhīmu
rabbiyallażī yuḥyī wa yumītu qāla ana uḥyī
wa umīt, qāla ibrāhīmu fa innallāha ya`tī
bisy-syamsi minal-masyriqi fa`ti bihā minal-
magribi fa buhitallażī kafar, wallāhu lā yahdil-
qaumaẓ-ẓālimīn
Have you not considered those who disputed with
Abraham concerning his Lord, because Allah had
given him the kingdom? When Ibrahim said, "My
Lord is the One who gives life and death," he said,
"I can give life and death." Ibrahim said, "Allah
causes the sun to rise from the east, so raise it
from the west." So the disbelievers were confused.
Allah does not guide the wrongdoers.
259
ﺍَﻭْ ﻛَﺎﻟَّﺬِﻱْ ﻣَﺮَّ ﻋَﻠٰﻰ ﻗَﺮْﻳَﺔٍ ﻭَّﻫِﻲَ ﺧَﺎﻭِﻳَﺔٌ ﻋَﻠٰﻰ
ﻋُﺮُﻭْﺷِﻬَﺎۚ ﻗَﺎﻝَ ﺍَﻧّٰﻰ ﻳُﺤْﻲٖ ﻫٰﺬِﻩِ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪُ ﺑَﻌْﺪَ
ﻣَﻮْﺗِﻬَﺎ ۚ ﻓَﺎَﻣَﺎﺗَﻪُ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪُ ﻣِﺎﺋَﺔَ ﻋَﺎﻡٍ ﺛُﻢَّ ﺑَﻌَﺜَﻪٗ ۗ
ﻗَﺎﻝَ ﻛَﻢْ ﻟَﺒِﺜْﺖَ ۗ ﻗَﺎﻝَ ﻟَﺒِﺜْﺖُ ﻳَﻮْﻣًﺎ ﺍَﻭْ ﺑَﻌْﺾَ
ﻳَﻮْﻡٍۗ ﻗَﺎﻝَ ﺑَﻞْ ﻟَّﺒِﺜْﺖَ ﻣِﺎﺋَﺔَ ﻋَﺎﻡٍ ﻓَﺎﻧْﻈُﺮْ ﺍِﻟٰﻰ
ﻃَﻌَﺎﻣِﻚَ ﻭَﺷَﺮَﺍﺑِﻚَ ﻟَﻢْ ﻳَﺘَﺴَﻨَّﻪْ ۚ ﻭَﺍﻧْﻈُﺮْ ﺍِﻟٰﻰ
ﺣِﻤَﺎﺭِﻙَۗ ﻭَﻟِﻨَﺠْﻌَﻠَﻚَ ﺍٰﻳَﺔً ﻟِّﻠﻨَّﺎﺱِ ﻭَﺍﻧْﻈُﺮْ ﺍِﻟَﻰ
ﺍﻟْﻌِﻈَﺎﻡِ ﻛَﻴْﻒَ ﻧُﻨْﺸِﺰُﻫَﺎ ﺛُﻢَّ ﻧَﻜْﺴُﻮْﻫَﺎ ﻟَﺤْﻤًﺎ ۗ
ﻓَﻠَﻤَّﺎ ﺗَﺒَﻴَّﻦَ ﻟَﻪٗ ۙ ﻗَﺎﻝَ ﺍَﻋْﻠَﻢُ ﺍَﻥَّ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪَ ﻋَﻠٰﻰ ﻛُﻞِّ
ﺷَﻲْﺀٍ ﻗَﺪِﻳْﺮٌ
au kallażī marra 'alā qaryatiw wa hiya
khāwiyatun 'alā 'urụsyihā, qāla annā yuḥyī
hāżihillāhu ba'da mautihā, fa amātahullāhu
mi`ata 'āmin ṡumma ba'aṡah, qāla kam labiṡt,
qāla labiṡtu yauman au ba'ḍa yaụm, qāla bal
labiṡta mi`ata 'āmin fanẓur ilā ṭa'āmika wa
syarābika lam yatasannah, wanẓur ilā
ḥimārik, wa linaj'alaka āyatal lin-nāsi wanẓur
ilal-'iẓāmi kaifa nunsyizuhā ṡumma naksụhā
laḥmā, fa lammā tabayyana lahụ qāla a'lamu
annallāha 'alā kulli syai`ing qadīr
Or like a person who passes by a country whose
(buildings) have collapsed to cover (the ruins) of
its roofs, he says, "How can Allah revive this
(country) after it has been destroyed?" Then Allah
put him to death for a hundred years, then raised
him up. And (Allah) asked, "How long have you
stayed (here)?" He (the man) replied, "I stay (here)
a day or half a day." God said, "No! You have lived
a hundred years. Look at your food and drink that
have not changed, but look at your donkey (which
has become a bone). And that We may make thee
a sign for mankind. Look at the bones (of the
donkey), how We put them together, then We
wrapped them in flesh. " So when it became clear
to him, he said, "I know that God is Almighty over
all things."
260
ﻭَﺍِﺫْ ﻗَﺎﻝَ ﺍِﺑْﺮٰﻫٖﻢُ ﺭَﺏِّ ﺍَﺭِﻧِﻲْ ﻛَﻴْﻒَ ﺗُﺤْﻲِ
ﺍﻟْﻤَﻮْﺗٰﻰۗ ﻗَﺎﻝَ ﺍَﻭَﻟَﻢْ ﺗُﺆْﻣِﻦْ ۗﻗَﺎﻝَ ﺑَﻠٰﻰ ﻭَﻟٰﻜِﻦْ
ﻟِّﻴَﻄْﻤَﻯِٕﻦَّ ﻗَﻠْﺒِﻲْ ۗﻗَﺎﻝَ ﻓَﺨُﺬْ ﺍَﺭْﺑَﻌَﺔً ﻣِّﻦَ
ﺍﻟﻄَّﻴْﺮِﻓَﺼُﺮْﻫُﻦَّ ﺍِﻟَﻴْﻚَ ﺛُﻢَّ ﺍﺟْﻌَﻞْ ﻋَﻠٰﻰ ﻛُﻞِّ
ﺟَﺒَﻞٍ ﻣِّﻨْﻬُﻦَّ ﺟُﺰْﺀًﺍ ﺛُﻢَّ ﺍﺩْﻋُﻬُﻦَّ ﻳَﺄْﺗِﻴْﻨَﻚَ
ﺳَﻌْﻴًﺎ ۗﻭَﺍﻋْﻠَﻢْ ﺍَﻥَّ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪَ ﻋَﺰِﻳْﺰٌﺣَﻜِﻴْﻢٌ
wa iż qāla ibrāhīmu rabbi arinī kaifa tuḥyil-
mautā, qāla a wa lam tu`min, qāla balā wa
lākil liyaṭma`inna qalbī, qāla fakhuż
arba'atam minaṭ-ṭairi fa ṣur-hunna ilaika
ṡummaj'al 'alā kulli jabalim min-hunna juz`an
ṡummad'uhunna ya`tīnaka sa'yā, wa'lam
annallāha 'azīzun ḥakīm
And (remember) when Ibrahim said: "My Lord,
show me how You give life to the dead." God said,
"Do you not believe?" He (Ibrahim) replied, "I
believe, but so that my heart is calm (steady)." He
(Allah) said, "Then take four birds, then chop them
and place them on each hill one part, then call
them, they will come to you immediately." Know
that Allah is Mighty, Wise.
